- Preparing the operating room prior to surgical procedures, including sterilizing instruments, setting up operating tables, and providing medical supplies.
- Assistance with positioning and repositioning the patient before, during, and after surgery.
- Providing instruments and equipment during surgery and assisting the surgeon as needed.
- Monitoring the sterile field during surgery and adhering to strict hygiene and aseptic guidelines.
- Assistance with the use of medical devices such as endoscopes, catheters, and surgical instruments.
- Documenting surgical procedures and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Assisting the anesthesia team in preparing and monitoring the patient during anesthesia.
- Participation in continuing education programs and the development of one’s own skills and knowledge in the field of surgical techniques.
- Completed training as a surgical technician or equivalent qualification.
- Active professional licensure and registration are desirable.
- Application for Recognition of Professional Qualifications / Notice of Shortfall (optional)
- Thorough knowledge of surgical asepsis and hygiene practices.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Resilience and the ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changing situations.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- A sense of responsibility and a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
- Basic knowledge of medical equipment and surgical technology.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development.
- B1 German Certificate (Goethe / telc Certificate)
